Founded in 1936, Alton Rifle Club is a small, friendly, small-bore rifle club with members drawn from Alton and the surrounding villages.
We offer three shooting disciplines at our 5-lane, 25-yard indoor target range:
- Prone target rifle, every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7pm
- Light Sporting Rifle, every Wednesday evening from 7pm
- Benchrest Rifle, every Tuesday evening from 7pm
Further details are available here.
Alton Rifle Club is Home Office-approved and affiliated to the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA). We also belong to the Hampshire Smallbore Rifle Association and the Southampton and Portsmouth District Associations. Competitive target shooting is our passion and we shoot in National, County and Regional competitions all year round.
We also run shoulder-to-shoulder matches against other local clubs in the County. Members can compete in Open Competitions at Bisley and other ranges around the UK. In fact, Alton Rifle Club members have shot in National Competitions at Bisley, Scotland and in the Channel Islands.
If you’d like to come and shoot with us, then please go to our Membership page and fill in the Application Form there, which is easily downloaded. No previous experience is necessary and we supply all the equipment and instruction you’ll need to shoot safely and successfully. If you are an experienced shooter, new to the area and wishing to join an active and friendly club, then we’d love to hear from you.
Well done Sue!
